Ballard Down

£39.84

Sire: Canford Cliffs (IRE) – Dam: Mackenzie’s Friend (GB)

Ballard Down is an 8-year-old bay gelding by the sire Canford Cliffs who was an impressive Coventry Stakes winner at Royal Ascot as a 2-year-old, later a high-class miler at 3 and 4 with lots of winners in his first 2-year-old crop and out of the dam Mackenzie’s Friend.

He has been rated a high of 102 on the flat having won a class 2 handicap at Newmarket and ran in a listed race at Ascot, now trained by Alex Dunn he is now very well handicapped, he has been over jumps but the flat is where he needs to be, currently on a short break and will be ready for the turf flat season ahead, ideally likes soft ground, he still has a nice turn of foot and is an ideal horse to follow throughout the year. We have not ruled out going over hurdles in the future.
